Is my Kid Safe o a Trampoline ?

Trampolining is a fun activity for people of all ages but can be risky, particularly for younger children who are more vulnerable to injuries to the head, neck, arms, and legs. To ensure safety while using a trampoline, it’s crucial to follow specific rules and safety guidelines.

For toddlers and small children, trampoline jumping is not recommended due to their size and increased risk of injury. Children aged six and above can jump on a full-sized trampoline with adult supervision, and those under ten require supervision. Younger kids are more prone to fractures, while older kids and adults are at a higher risk of strains and sprains.

Before using a trampoline, it’s important to follow safety tips, such as

  • Setting up the trampoline on a level surface away from trees, fences, and other structures.
  • Check for tears and broken fixtures before each use, and ensure the springs and bolts are correctly in place
  • Remove any objects underneath the trampoline.
  • Jewelry, hats, and other items in pockets should be removed
  • Always wear athletic clothing
  • Avoid clothing with embellishments or large buttons
  • Children should always be supervised while using the trampoline, with only one person jumping at a time.
  • No children under six should be allowed to jump, and somersaults and flips are not recommended.
  • Jumping should be done in the center of the trampoline
  • Avoid jumping along the edge or jumping off the trampoline.
  • After use, remove any ladders to prevent children from accessing it, and check if your homeowner’s insurance covers trampoline injuries.
